    Hi,
Any additional info on the new V-max? Is Yamaha ever going to re-enter the North American big bore dual sport market? Seems like the XT660Z Tenere would be easy enough to bring over here.

Hey Scott, we were supposed to have it out this year (Vmax) but stuff happens, fingers crossed for 09. We’re aware of the demand for a large DP bike, we are investigating the pricing and positioning, remember we had the XT 600 on display for our dealers but the pricing didn’t work for them… thanks for asking we’re working on it. 2. ATV Parts says:

Just a question what is the predecessor of the vmax?

The original 1st VMAX was a 1985 model. It was sold continuously until 2007, but there was no 2008 VMAX available in Canada. A second generation was released in 2009, so there have only been 2 real generations of this model. There were some minor changes over the years, the most notable was 1993 when they changed the brakes and forks. The original VMAX engine was loosely based on the V4 Venture Royale engine of the early 1980s’… but with a lot more ponies and V-boost. Hopefully that answers your question, ATVParts!
