Last year(2008) I went shopping for a new bike. My first choices were a FJ1300, not in the store and could not try it so pass. Second choice, 660 Tenere, not sold in Canada, third choice WR 450, no, you cannot have that.
I ended up buying a BMW R1200RT for the same price as the FJ after a full demo. Lots more equipment, more room and comfort no heat issues and better warranty.
It is really tough being a yamaha fan in Canada.
cheers

<em>That's unfortunate, Simon. Yamaha dealers are typically very generous in offering demo rides and chances to try out our motorcycles. We even have our Power Tour that travels all over Canada with a truckload of various models for enthusiasts to experience our latest and greatest. Anyhoo, while we'd love to see you on the team, we're still happy to hear another person is enjoying their two wheel passion. That's what it's all about, riding!

Well I must say it is kind of funny to see Yamaha Canada and Yamaha USA put the pictures of the 2010 Venture S and Venture with the CB attenae on the wrong side again this year. Does Yamaha not know which side the attenaes are supposed to be on?

<em>Thanks for the comment Rod. You are absolutely correct that the Ventures in the photos (shot by our friends in the south) have the Antennae switched. I cannot tell you why they may have done that. Maybe we have to give them "artistic licence?" I will pass the (good natured) ribbing along and we'll try to get it right for 2011.
Cheers,
